I'll be in the SD are next week on Catalina Isand and am looking for diving options. Any suggestions for boats or shore dives? I know they sank a Canadian destroyer off shore but don't know the dive ops out their. My cousins will probably come down from LA for at least Sunday dives.

Also, what are the conditions? Dry suit?

Thanks!!!

You'll probably want to post in the SoCal forum for better information, DP, but I'd bring a drysuit. The destroyer you're looking for is the Yukon, and it's sunk near San Diego. If you're on Catalina, stay there and dive. If you really want to dive on the wrecks, do a search on "Yukon" or "Ruby E" and you'll find several ops that run out to wreck alley. La Jolla is also a nice place to dive on the mainland, but you just can't go wrong on Catalina.

Also, PM Dr. Bill and he can give you the most accurate information on Catalina conditions.
