She did have a weak pulse, but was not breathing. I was involved in the resuce and provided rescue breathing and instruction to other divers who were all helping. I will post more later, but at last check she was said to be doing "ok".

I will add that her buddies (it was a 4 person dive) did a good job of signaling for help. I watched as they did what they could while towing her through kelp and agains current.

Please be mindful of HIPPA here. Anyone at any level talking about someone thay helped can and are sued by the land sharks. After it's out in the media, then it can be talked about but not more than the level that was "reported".
Good work BTW.

The state of California has the good sam. law as well as many other states. Anyone can sue anyone for anything but there are laws are to protect those who do help within their training abilities. As far as the instructor or DM who is responsible for the group that could be different when it comes to liability.

Good sam laws have nothing to do with HIPPA. It involves reveling Pt info to the public. The land sharks latest scam to screw the rest of us.

I'm a HIPAA-compliant clinician and HIPAA has no place here on the boards. HIPAA has strictly to do with billing insurance companies.

Just wanted to clear the air.

Hope this doesn't sound stupid but, what is HIPAA?
