Hey all,

Which of the numerous dive shops in the area are best-equipped to handle DIR or general bp/w rig needs?

Not sure about Monterey, but Advanced Dive Training in Pittsburg has a good selection, as does the dive shop in Santa Cruz called Aqua Safaris.

We get our tank fills at Aquarius on Del Monte, but they are not a tech shop, just a friendly LDS that we support.

What kind of needs does a BP/W have? Are you looking to purchase one?

Specifically, a friend of mine was looking to pick up a replacement Halcyon power inflator before our last dive (his had a recurring slow leak that service didn't seem to fix); none of the shops we stopped at carried them. We knew Manta Ray used to be around but was told it's now gone.

Yeah, we have a lot of shops up here in the bay area, just thought it would be good to know if there was a Monterey shop in case something pops up (or off) during a dive day down there.

AWS and ADT are the best ones as far as a long hoser's preference goes...

And for your inflator... a regular Trident replacement inflator will do...

Yeah, just so happened that neither Aquarius nor Bamboo Reef had any power inflators at all that day.

The good news coming out of that is that he got the inflator disassembly tool afterwards and is now pretty comfortable servicing it himself.
