Sealife 960D question

I have a Sealife 960D strobe and an Olympus PT021 housing. The hook and loop disc that come with the strobe will not stay on the flash diffuser where the fiber link hooks to the housing. Any ideas/experience of alternate ways to attach the cable where it won't come loose?

When I was using one I cut about 1/2 inch of the fiber optic wire housing off so just the bare fiber optic was showing and then just duct taped it to the housing. It wasn't pretty but it worked great.
