Sounds great... I should know for sure by the 12th if I can go or not.

Since I am still diving air, I didn't think to ask the question before. I talked to Bill this morning and the $30 includes 2 tanks of air. If you want nitrox that is another $4. He has 32% on tap. If you need some speical mix for deco bottles, give him a call and talk directly with him about that if you are planning to anything like that. I have not advanced to that level of diving yet I will let you guys work that out.

You can dive doubles or what ever config you want to dive.

He lets you dive your own time right? Some places have it to where everyone goes in and comes up at the same time. I like to use most of my air at least.

since we are his only group, we can dive our own time within reason. Just beware, it is cold and we will be burning a lot of energy to stay warm so all of us air hog might eat up your snacks while you are below!! LOL

Then only requirement that he has is that we get a least 4 people for the boat. Right now I have 8 people interested in going so if only half decide to go we can make it happen. If we get at least 7 we can take the big boat.

He is not taking a group out before or after us so we will have the run of things that day. Bill is going to be out of town, so Greg will bet the captain that day. Went out and a few charters with Greg at the helm and had a super time. Very laid back guy and great captain.

How many committed do you have as of today?

I would love to go but have to work. Last time I dove the hothole I did it in a 3mil and was quite comfortable.

Okay i had to cancel the dive i had planned for the week before this, so it looks like i'll be coming up for this. I'll be by myself though, hope there is someone to buddy up with.

Looks like I may be able to go and if I go I'll be by myself as well so I'm sure we can all work something out. I hope the viz is good enough to try out my camera and new external flash. Someone may have posted it already but what is the max depth on this dive?

Can anyone tell me any place close by my wife and 2 year old may be able to visit or whatever while im diving? Shes not big into the whole water scene but wants to get out of the house and go somewhere so I was hoping there may be something up that way.

If Dawg and Irreg are coming, I think that makes 5 of us plus the captain. There are a couple more folks thinking about coming along.

Things to do for the surface crew:
by the way, I don't know how much of this your 2 year old would enjoy doing. I will let you and the wife the the judge of that. Unless you are swiming, diving, boating or hiking it is pretty dead out there this time of year.

This might be a good close indoor option of of something to do. Never been there so don't know how old you need to be to enjoy it

If she spends the day at Devil's Fork State Park, just before you get to the park, you will pass the Jocassee Outdoor Center. It is a gas station, dive tank fill station, gift shop, out gear sales and rental and cafe all in one happy bundle. They have great pizza and burgers and an 8 foot table to sit down and eat at. http://www.jocasseeoutdoorcenter.com/

The dive site is about and hour and fifteen minutes from Greenville or about forty-five from Easley. It is a remote area so mostly it is parks, hiking trails and water out that way. We might be able to work out some kind of car pool if she wants to stay in Greenville and shop.

In the summer when it is warm, we usually set up a canopy with chair and so forth for our bubble watchers and bring along stuff for the kids to feed the fish.

We will probably be on the lake a good 4 hours by the time you figure everyones dive time for two dives and a surface interval along with water travel and launching the boat.

Hope this info helps
