What Kind of fish is this?
White face, with a red or oragnge tringle mid body. Very common in the Red Sea.

Dive master said from my description might be a broom fish?

It's taking FOREVER to load. You do know that our gallery is now open. And it's quick! :D

The only time I have ever heard the term "Broom Fish", it was in referencing a sole.

Yes it looks like the Scubaboard is right again, it is a slingjaw wrasse.

I had no idea that fish was so interesting!

Here is what I learned on the web:
The name slingjaw refers to the fish's ability to really extend its mouth to capture food. It has no jaw hinge and can thrust it jaw out almost as far as the half the size of the fish! The fish will not only switch colors once in its life but also its sex. This will only happen once in a fishes life. Only the males are colored like the ones I saw -- the females are just one uniform color often yellow or brown.

And I wil try that gallery, I am not sure why the borad would not upload my photo.
