Does the D6 use the same pc connection kit as the D9?

Has anyone figured out how to make your own adapter? $100 is steep for a cable. If the watch has a real USB port it should be doable. If the connection kit has something like a serial-USB adapter in it, it becomes more difficult.

I have yet to get my hands on a D6 to find out how different they are.

I'm fairly certain that the D9 cable contains electronics, most likely a specialized USB-Serial converter.

That's what I was afraid of. Thanks for the info.

(The D6 is allegedly a D9 without the wireless so I would hope that they use the same interface... but it's hard to tell from web blurbs. I may have to contact Suunto.)
