I use 1 for my console. I've had it about 5 years, and keep thinking it must be on it's last leg, but it still works great. But it's only been in salt water for about 30 dives. I do rinse it well after all dives.

What Walter said. A retractor is just something else to get tangled up and/or broken. I use a bolt snap connected with a rubber o-ring and a cable tie. With some practice you'll be able to "snap" it on and off without thinking.

I used the retractors for a while they worked great for the type of diving I was doing. Now that I have gone over to the tech side 7' hose wing doubles the retractors are silly. No need for them a good zip tie o ring and a brass snap are all you need.
