I'll usually take scout position, look back between my legs, circle back and hang out in the blue while she takes her 20 or 30 shots. Then continue along 'till turn around point. In a drift, I prefer her to take the lead. Been diving together 30 yrs. Have had a few testy moments, mostly while bugging, that gave rise to some "interesting" hand signals. :)

My wife and I don't dive together that much anymore. I like deep dark wrecks, She doesn't. When we go diving in the Bahamas she's usually helping with the newbies while I'm taking pics or penetrating a wreck with another buddy.

When we did dive together I prefered side by side. I did keep an eye on her more closely than other buddies.

Once she asked me to learn American Sign Language so we could communicate better underwater.
No Way!! It's the only place that I don't have to listen to her!!

With most buddies we're side by side, with my husband I prefer he be either at work or maybe resting on the bottom someplace a couple of hundred feet below me

With most dive buddies, the dives usually start out side by side. Never know by the end.

My Ex would say that I was a different person after a dive... I would dive as often as possible; she never went with me.
