It's a movie about aliens but it took air in his "liquid breathing suit" to ruin it for you :05:
Aliens do exist, we just don't know about them :14:

boomx5, it was the boxy "tank holders?" that threw me off, so you're right, there were using tanks. And I don't think it's like Star Trek, because this movie tries to look real and uses modern technology, on the other hand, Star Trek is a complete fantasy.

Pez de Diablo, thanx a lot. I didn't know there were forums on BadAstronomy.com. I searched and found many threads there on this topic.

Pipedope, my problem with the air pocket that it’s something that should have been noticed and fixed right away.

it's a movie... it's not a documentary... just enterteinment... they had bigger
things to worry about, such as making sure the stars got enough screen
time to please the fans

nice if they get it right... i don't lose any sleep if they dont

or the other

Is there any truth at all to the "oxygenated water" concept to being with?

sorta... Check for a product called Fluorinert.

It's a non conducutive fluid made by 3M originally to be a substitute artificial blood. It's non conductive and is also used to cool high heat electronic components.
We used to cool our supercomputers at one time....

Anyway, it is supposed to support (hold) oxygen also. ....
