I'm a proud owner of a Sony DCS-F707 and am looking for a housing. I have identified two manufacturers which are offering housings:

. Ikelite (not sure if already available)

http://www.ikelite.com/web_pages/sony_f707.html

. Amphibico Surveyor 707

https://online.amphibico.com/amphibico/

The two have totally different approaches to the design of the housing but cost almost the same (just below $1000).

Has anybody already used one of the two housings? Any preferences over the two designs?

Thanks!

Ray

Hey Ray,
those are the two only housings I have located as well.

I have yet to get one, but I am done with my research and I am just waiting for the fall Sony product upgrade cycle to swing around so I can get the 6 megapixel version of the camera.

I have chosen the amphibico housing, I just like it better, the material is more solid, I build canister lights and I do not care for the acryslic since it can shatter, if it can do that in a light can, it would probably be able to do it with a camera if dropped or something.
I also like the way the surveyor gives a similar feel to the camera as without the housing.

Anyway, that is just what I came up with - really looking forward to shutter control and f-stops...

Not used or seen on myself but I have heard good things about them. Only snag for you guys I guess is they are based in Hong Kong.

I'm also a proud owner of a Sony Cybershot f707, and i've managed to find this website (below) which sells 6 different types of housings (including the Ikelite and the Amphibico).

I don't know much about the specifications of any of the housings, but I hope to get the Amphibico as it is way more practical and small (apart from the ewa-marine, which looks like (is) a plastic bag :) ).

Hope I could be of some help. If you decide to buy any, post the chosen model here.

Yeah, you're right. The choices have grown, but looking at the $$$ it seem that the amphibico still offers the best bang for the bucks. I guess you wouldn't want to put the expensice camera in a plastic bag ....

I wish I could let you know about my decision, but I still waiting for my lottery ticket to be a winner .... :D
