Here’s a little Okinawan macro clip I shot recently on Okinawa Main Island, Japan, featuring the Ryukyu Seadragon - also known as the Japanese Pygmy Seadragon (Kyonemichthys rumengani), a species of thread pipefish less than 2.5cm long.

The Ryukyu Seadragon - also known as the Japanese Pygmy Seadragon - is a species of thread pipefish (Kyonemichthys rumengani) found in the Okinawan Archipelago.Well camouflaged and quite small (adults reach up to 2.5 cm in length), it is elusive and somewhat difficult to spot.

Cheers~

Very nice video. All of the same animal?

Thanks Morgan! Yes, it's the same little guy. He had a pregnant partner (not sure if it's the male or female in their case), but I didn't include it for continuity.
He was really in a walkabout mood that day, and moved all around the rock where they live, stopping every now and then, I stayed with him for an hour 😅
