Your scenario puts the maximum buddy separation at a far greater distance than the 10 meters that I stated it to be. You're changing the narrative.
No, you're misunderstanding. You are both swimming in the same direction: them in front swimming away, and you behind swimming toward them. There is a consistent 10m separation because you're both swimming at the same pace. When a problem develops, you have to catch them. You increase your speed, but being unaware of the issue, they continue at their same pace. The separation is not reduced by your new speed of 10m/min, but by the *difference* in your speeds. If the original speeds were 8m/min, it will take 5 minutes to catch them. In this statement, you are clearly assuming they are stationary:
10 meters is 5 diver lengths. Or a nice sized living room. If that takes you more than a minute at a regular pace there are problems here.

So divers above me cannot avoid my bubbles in the big wide ocean?

It was an unusually low tide and a narrow passage in the sea in a shipping route surrounded by an aggressive sergeant major fish while they were doing military drills before sundown.

An impenetrable bubble curtain lol.

Created by a diver that happens to be below and in front of another diver who chooses to swim directly over them in a huge expanse of open water.

That's the funniest thing I've read all week.

Hilarious!

They must think I get together with a group of whales to form bubble walls to trap fish in.

Dude, I worked at those boats as guide, making sure everyone dives respectful is part of the guides job. I heard this complaint countless times, I always made sure people who are staying deeper remain behind the group. Nowadays nearly every guest will have a camera or gopro, you go infront and below, noone can take photos or enjoy the view. You are in luck that you had an Egyptian guide that was actually pretty laid back.

But they were so different above water. It was like a complete transformation.
To me, the Jekyll-and-Hyde personality observation is the only interesting part of this thread.

So what you mean I should stay above you and avoid your bubble trail. I get it now. No one is allowed to dive deeper than where you are lol

Breaky Breaky heart... oh dear... other divers bubbles are a part of diving when they are not on closed circuit. Why do other divers have to follow my bubbles? I don't follow theirs.
Plenty of bubbles in this video

Well in this video it looks like the guest are placed in a row to reduce the obstruction from the bubbles, whole thing proves my point.

Lots of bubble walls from the guides as well... which is why I stayed behind them as plenty of Tiger sharks coming in from behind the divers. They were not looking behind them as you can see from the beginning of the video. :D

I meant completely the opposite: willing to learn instead of unwilling to learn. And I did not only mean it but also wrote it down like that :)
You may have meant completely the opposite but that is not how it was written.

I tried to help, you refuse to listen and will therefore continue to struggle with my native language and constantly be misunderstood by others because you're too stubborn to accept well intended advice.
