Solo cave dive today at Jackson Blue Spring, Florida. Conditions were great — low flow, clear water, and I made it back to the Trash Room around 2100 ft. Awesome way to kick off Labor Day weekend cave diving.

wow really nice.

Not today (per the title of this thread), but yesterday did a delightful 150+ min dive at Yellow Brick Road. My absolutely favoritist dive locally. So. Many. Fish. Thousands. Schools and schools of fish, never intermingling (except grunts) alongside each other, or above and below. I just stopped. Relaxed looking around at all the fish, seemingly to dance with the currents and suddenly all dive low. A predatory fish - a jack of some sort comes cruising by. Threat over, they resume their position.
Visibility was Ok, 25 ft further out, maybe 10 ft near shore. Water temp a very warm 86-87° and lots of coral bleaching. Bright whites standing out amid the haze. We have at least another month of warm water. Hopefully they will survive.
i am
getting close to you now i did a 60 minutes dive this morning 🤣.

Hey I just found 34109411 brushing up on the skills he learnt on his course, he's incredible

i i meet him few times and chat over email when i was living in playa del carmen from 05 to 08, unfortunately due to medical problem he stop diving around 2020. We use to go to the same gym the guy was 💪 .

I did all show on the video yesterday on the first dive except swimming on the back rolling on the side and stuff like that.

Yes i am using Catalina 80 AL i do use two set of d-ring I am training in Ontario, Canada. I don't have slinding d-ring for now but will look it for it seem more convenient.

I was told luxfer AL are neutral in the water, my LDS told me they have some will try them out.

Cheers
In salt water they all float, just a question of when. A pair of fixed D rings is arguably easier to manage with aluminums (personal opinion).

i dive only in fresh water but i understand what you are saying.

The past two days, Ive dived with Sue. We've, erh, I have been looking for some big coral heads off the beach. I've been there a few times, this is a new site for Sue. So when we set up the dive for Tuesday, I suggested that location and besides there are Leopard Gobies also. Never found one in any other location. Vis was crap for beach diving, less than 10ft near shore, and maybe opened up to 20 at the drop off. Never found the coral heads, but did find a couple Leopard Gobies. We went back on Wednesday in search of those coral heads. Vis a little better, maybe 20 near shore, and better at the drop off. Again. Nope. OMG, so close, but just didn't find them. Cripes!
Today Sue couldn't go, so being determined to find those coral heads, I headed out Solo. Conditions the best of the 3 days, with just a gentle north current to start, and vis opening up to 30+.and the water is more blue than green. 20 min into the dive I find the first coral head, and count at least a dozen more, the largest the size of a small car. Exactly where I thought they were. No Leopard Gobies, but lots of other fish. Did a REEF ID and played with my camera settings, AND photographed the coral tags I could find. Photos will go to SEAFAN for their Bleachwatch and Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease (SCTLD) programs. Dive time was just over 3 hours on a steel 80. Dang! I LOVE summertime diving!!

It helps that:
A. I am good on air naturally
B. Summertime. Warm water
C. No wetsuit = no additional weight carried
D. Tend to swim very slow and deliberately.
E. As a photog, I have really good buoyancy skills...
F. Very familiar with the diving environment
G. Max depth on yesterday's dive was 33ft, avg depth 18 ft
