We had assumed you were describing the costs of a typical exchange process, or worst case - exchange with eventual return of both. These are both described below.

However, instead of doing an exchange, you did the math for including a second purchase, which doubles our credit card fees, doubles the associated 'free' shipping, and then assumed you would be returning both pairs.

To be honest, this is exactly the type of situation we are trying to avoid, and the reason for the policy.

Spending more money, and incuring more fees, with the absolute intention of getting a refund for at least half of it.

In the typical process a customer can expect one of two outcomes:

1.) $15-20 total cost - if keeping the second pair.

2.) $30-40 in total shipping, plus $34.50 - if returning the second pair. For a total of $65-75.

Neither of those are $100 scenarios, that only happens with double ordering.

As stated previously, we are NOT trying to make money on returns, we are only covering the costs associated with the return. We just don't want to pass it along to other customers.

Thank you!

I am truly glad we have an acceptable solution.

Again, much appreciated for the support and kind words. We really do want you to enjoy the fins.

We just want to be absolutely clear about our policy, and the reasons for it.

Cheers and happy diving!

Deep6 Team

must be a hard post to bring out to the forefront with so many businesses just eating that extra cost with returns. We've been so spoiled by being able to basically abuse return policies with Amazon and so many others with the economy of scale to just eat it and move on. Bravo for trying to bring the reality of what a return actually costs out to everyone

After reading this thread I ended up ordering the XL fins, assuming they would fit.

They do not.

The straps are too tight, and it pushes my feet into the toe box causing discomfort.

My left foot contacts the top of the fin and causes discomfort.

XLs are too small for me.

I seem to be in the nightmare scenario land where I didn’t buy both the XL and the XXL, so now I’m doing the return these for the XXL.

From that pic the XXL would be WAY too large.

It sounds more like a left foot shape issue than a sizing one.

Spring and bungee straps a bane on the industry

Take the tabs off of the springs to give yourself a little bit more room. These look like they fit. I don't use the tabs and it's not a problem. Also a small stainless steel split ring would give you even more room if you need it.

This may be a great approach to give me the space my feet need without having to do a return. I think that the toe box area is great, the straps just seem too aggressive and tight. I'll try it without the tabs.

I could also try the aftermarket straps i guess, but just removing the tabs and getting some other split rings would probably take it from a pain in the foot to the perfect fin.

Across the springs supplied are to short for me and it’s nearly impossible to source longer springs since Covid, bungee is a better option.
