Hi All,

I was wondering if I could pick your brains about how those that have flown with a Seacraft Future packed it with out the original box?

I want to fly my Future down to Tulum and am not really to sure what is the best way to pack it. It is an awkward length where it really will not fit in any hard roller luggage or any Pelican cases that I own.

Is there anyone that has flown with one that could share how they packed it?

I also have a Genesis and it is much easier to fly with as I just remove the tube/battery housing form the motor/propeller and it become two separate small parts that are easier to pack into a normal size Pelican cases. But this will be my first time flying a Future

Also for those wondering or going to comment on the battery I already have that sorted. I have a friend that walked it across the boarder in Nogales, AZ and then just mailed it to me in Tulum.

I would just rent a seacraft from protec, way less hassle. My $0.02
Ok… Well when you spend about 6 months out of the year down there and average about 300hr of diving a year that would get real expensive at the $120/day (or whatever it is) for rental.

Nice flex, I should have guessed

In that case I recommend the case my genesis came with (assuming your scooter fits?):

OUCH!!! Paying for excess luggage and weight is cheap in comparison :)

Plus im United 1k so I get 3 free checked bags 70lbs each.

Yeah I have Genesis and it’s easy to fly with because it’s shorter. I fly it in a pelican case with foam like that. But as I mentioned originally in my first post the Seacraft is a really awkward length that does not fit in any normal size pelican cases of hard sided luggage. Hence with I am asking what others have used that fit it? Obviously the original box would be best but that went in the trash. So all I can think of now is to some how play arts and crafts and tape up a couple boxes to make one and make some kind of foam to hold it secure in the box.

Might check with the music industry for a shipping case that’s a bit bigger than Pelican’s largest but not so big as to reach gargantuan dimensions.

For my G3.1, I think I’m going to get lucky with the Nanuk case I bought for my Blacktip. I’m up in Ohio for racing when my new DPV rolls in this week so checking dimensions will be a top priority when I get home.

What Nanuk case?

The shipping case is the Nanuk 960 with Imperial inside dimensions of 22 × 17 × 12.9” (L x W x H). Looks like some disassembly will be required.
