Prior to my Eid Al Adha trip to Ras Al Hadd, my buddy decided that we should dive around Muscat for a change as she wasn't keen on going to the Damaniyat Islands again.

In short she booked with Extra Divers in Qantab and we stayed at an Air BnB close by (10 min drive).

In short we did an afternoon dive when we arrived and two morning dives the next day. We were hoping to dive the wreck at Bandar Khayran, but the weather conditions were too windy, which killed my plans to shoot wide angle.

That said, the water was nice and warm 30-32C and we had three excellent dives in and around the proximity of the dive centre. The boat and dive crew were excellent and the dive centre well run. No doubt we will return here when the weather is more agreeable.

A pair of cuttlefish spotted at Jissah Point on the first dive.

My Buddy and I headed down to Oman again last Saturday following a six week surface interval for her due to a medical op plus change of job requiring her to stay in the UAE until her residence visa was sorted out.

So it was a Friday night drive to Muscat and two days diving with Extra Divers again and this time we were lucky getting two dives on Al Munassir wreck at Bandar Khayran on the Sunday before heading back to Dubai.

The wreck is massive 84m long and easy to penetrate. This gave me an opportunity to practice some WA photography for a change, still a challenge for me though to get the perfect lighting.

We were lucky that only four of us diving, nice and peaceful.

Two massive Honeycomb Morays living on the wreck.
