Welcome back! For that side of the DFW metroplex Wheeler Branch Reservoir in Glen Rose Texas is the place to go. It's roughly 1.5hrs from Ft Worth. While it does not have a fill station it is an excellent lake to dive in and work your skills.
As far as dive shops in the area you have:
Island Divers in Denton
DFW Scuba in Haltom City
High Tide Scuba in Mansfield
The Scuba Shop in North Richland Hills
There is also The Scuba Ranch but that is roughly 2 hours away in Terrell Texas, BUT it's also an excellent place to dive AND they have a fill station and rental shop on site. Good luck and have fun!

Welcome and hope you're seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I just went through a divorce myself and decided to start fresh in Brazil. I hadn’t been diving in a long time either during my marriage. Feels good to get back into something that brings peace. Wishing you the best on your new chapter too.
