Looking for recent updates of diving in Cuba. Would like to stay at an all-inclusive resort with something to do for non-divers as well.

i have been to cuba many times, by far the best diving is maria la gorda. as for all inclusives i would say holguin or santa lucia would be good choices for divers and non divers.

sandals sucked
5 star my ***
looks pretty and room was nice
good beach sandy and shallow
food bad buffet worse

as for diving, they would not go out because it was too windy. more like they wanted the day off. if we were paying for scuba (it was included) i'm sure they would not turn away a chance to make money.

the one day we did get out (they only do single tank dives),
the boat parks 100 metres out and you need to swim to it in full gear. can't take your supplies with you. fortunately my fin strap broke as i was getting on the boat ( not after) so i was able to swim back and get some rentals. i have a spare strap but it was easier to just use the rental fins.

mostly sand bottoms so they sank a boat and some military equipment to swim around and look at 60ft.

interesting but not reef or wall diving. .who knows what else is there but that one dive and the operation did not impress.

Sorry that you did not get the full value of what was probably an expensive vacation.(sandals)
Veradero is not a diving area but more a location for sun , sand and rum.
Food in general in cuba is only fair to middle.
Cayo coco, cayo largo, guardalavaca, all offer decent diving with reefs and walls and also will suit the non diver with lots of sand and sun.
