Sorry for the tardy response but I do not often log in. I understand your predicament but I recently had an incident with a diver with significant experience, but none of it recent, that my buddy and I were paired up with on a trip in the Keys. It have made me very leery to dive with someone that I do not know. Here is a suggestion. As I often dive while on a family vacation with non-divers, I generally will choose a small outfit that has guided dives. An example is Indigo Divers in Grand Cayman. Continue your diving and have fun.

      Best Regards

      Dave

      DaveDiver,
Kind of afraid to even approach you, since I am so VERY new to diving, and you might not need that kind of stress in your life! But I recently had my first two dives, and was so entranced that I would like to carry on...but as you know, this is not something you can do by yourself. I am a widow, 58 yrs old, and live in Fairfax also. It might take me some time to find someone willing to take on the "lame duck", so forgive me if you are not the one...
