    Bermuda Shore Diving Question

Hello, Does anybody happen to know if tourists can rent tanks from a dive shop in Bermuda? I know there are some shops that will not rent gear to tourists for “solo” diving or diving without a guide. Thanks in advance.

What proportion of scuba divers can equalize ears "no hands"?

Cousteau’s divers just swallowed and moved their lower jaw around to equalize. Way easier to do that and less likely to burst an ear drum from blowing your nose too hard. There was no mention of this in my OW course, learned everything useful outside of that course.

I may never have as much as Alec Pierce, although I have dealt with him on several occasions. Very polite and well spoken. I’d be open to suggestions about what you guys want to see more of. I tried some new lighting and a different setup for this week’s video. Hopefully, you’ll learn...

Hey guys, I made a new video while trying to listen to the recommendations. Better lighting, more props, etc. Let me know what you think. It may still look like a mafia interrogation but at least there’s a nice Royal Mistral in the background :) The new thread regarding the generations of...

Thank you very much. Let me just explain a few things, so the forum doesn’t think I’m uninformed or uneducated! This is in response to your comment as well as CT-Rich. I think I meant by the “oldest regulator” I meant oldest regulator still in use, I think the only changes made to the ScubaPro...

Today’s video is up. I think this will make for an interesting conversation/debate. To use dive knives or to not use them? My vote: NOT USE THEM Heavy, impractical, and expensive pieces of stainless steel! All the good dive shops I’ve been to keep those knives locked up in display cabinets...

Excellent write-up on SeaLab III, Akimbo. Knowing that you had person experience in Saturation Diving as well as actually working with and speaking to men who were SeaLab III divers validates your write-up! AhoyFed

New video is up! I’m discussing Piston regulators. I tried to make it as simple as possible. Hopefully I succeeded. Let me know what you guys think! AhoyFed

Hannes Keller’s 1000’ Dive sure was a leap into the unknown and unfortunately costed people their lives. After reading the various articles and stories about the dive, I’m surprised more people didn’t die. These divers really were “flying by the seat of their pants” especially with mixed gas...

How much should I be spending on PADI training?

That’s not a bad price for the course. I did mine many years ago in school for around 700CAD rentals included. As for the gear, depending on the regulator it may not necessarily need service. If you’re diving a ScubaPro or Aqua Lung, you can get away with several years without service. This is...

I had a Sherwood 3 piece manifold (sold now) that I used on my 72s for a while and it was a PITA to assemble and disassemble. Luckily, the manifold didn't have any huge flaws in the metal-to-metal seats, although it did require a BFW to seal it. I could've sworn that wrench was at least 3 feet...

New Video is up! Some of the information regarding the introductory year of the manifold may be slightly off, but considering I only have limited access to US Divers catalogs it’s fairly accurate. I don’t have a copy of the 1976-1979 catalogs, nor are there any available online. AhoyFed
