It turned out that the light monkey came with a hole that fits a #6 machine screw, but none of the parts to rig a clip to it. I had to buy myself:
* SS clip I got from my LDS
* #6 SS screws
* #6 SS nuts
* #6 SS washers
* What's called a "P clamp", cheap (but strong!) plastic ones that come in packs of 54. URL for them (cause they're hard to find):

Put them all together and it looks pretty elegant, and is strong too. :)
