This is the annual Ogoh ogoh festival in Kuta, Bali; Ogoh-ogoh are mythical creatures in Balinese hindhu belief. These are made by village youth with donations from their residents. Each of these impressive sculptures (made from bamboo and paper) may cost up to 2000USD. Winner from the festival will earn a cash price but more braggin rights being the best in Kuta. This is held on the eve of \'Nyepi\'- or the Balinese hindu calender new year, where for 24 hours no one is allowed to come out from their home, which is said to persuade the monsters to go back to their lair after seing the deserted streets of Bali
