Ahh, I have discovered that it is a "Mole Cowrie", a snail/slug that covers its shell with flaps from its mantle. Never seen one before. This black one was beautiful. You can see the white part of its shell and the typical white spots all over its mantle

I've seen many empty shells, but didn't realise this was the creature that lives inside. The shell is oval with a long hole with serrations along it's length.
