We went out in Lake Champlain today and dove by a popular cliff jumping spot called Red Rocks.

A friend of mine lost his Apple watch there last week and so I decided to try to find it. I figured there would be more.

I brought my goodie bag to help with some trash clean up. Some of the bottles were mildly interesting looking, but none seemed particularly old. They all went into the recycling bin on my way out of the marina.

I was diving in a group of three and we each found an apple watch. One of them had been there long enough to have substantial zebra muscle growth on it, the other two less so. I think my friend's watch was the blue one.

I don't think it will still work after a full week at 15+ ft deep, but I'll get it back to him so he can have closure and lay it to rest with an appropriate ceremony.

It's entirely possible that all three would work. Stick 'em on a charger and see what you have. If they had let water in I'd expect the battery to expand, resulting in visible damage.

Found an iPhone 13 at 25’ that had been sitting there for almost a week. Still worked fine after giving it a charge

I and others find apple watches all the time at a cliff jumping spot. Only watch type I’ve ever found. I believe it’s their clasp design. One I found turned on underwater when I picked it up pressed a button. Roughly 30ft of water. They are tough buggers. Best find was Ray Bans

Was that Red Rocks Burlington i e Oakledge? Or was it Red Rocks South Burlington down off of qcp?

The ones in South Burlington, but it's around the bend from oakledge in Shelburne Bay and closer to Queen City Park (we could see the sailboat mooring area from where we anchored)

It wasn't a terrible dive site, the only thing that sucked was trying to find a place good enough to anchor without worrying about swinging into shallow ledge if the winds shifted etc. It'd be an easy place to dpv to from the shore from queen City Park (if you wanted to haul all your gear that far from the parking lot there)
