Trip Report Nova Scotia Diving

We shot this video of diving in St. Margarets Bay area of Nova Scotia. I have yet to see people post anything about diving here so I thought I would show people a short video of our trip diving in this area for our YouTube Channel A Diver's Life. For those who are into diving celebrities you might recognize Cathy Salisbury and Dominique Serafini from the Canada DreamWrecks Series. They are dear friends of ours. We think you will like Cranberry Cove. You might not think the colors are that great in this areas but indeed they are. We hope you enjoy it. For those looking to dive this area the water was 50-60 degrees Fahrenheit. Don't take any marine live like lobsters or scallops of which there are plenty as this is highly regulated.

Also the seafood is amazing. We highly recommend Ryer's Market near Peggy's Cove.

What led you to Nova Scotia? Visiting friends?

Is Nova Scotia mainly a place divers who happen to be in the area dive, or is it a popular dive destination?

I have an old buddy who lives in the Halifax area and he sent me a photo years ago of things he routinely finds while swimming offshore. In this case, it was an old 1700s clay smoking pipe.

Even when not diving, Nova Scotia is a popular destination. There are several things that you simply can't see anywhere else.

Peggy's Cove has one of the world's most photographed (and many would say photogenic) lighthouses in the world. The Bay of Fundy has the world's highest tides and during low tide leaves a wet landscape that is begging to be explored. There are countless picturesque small fishing villages all along the coast, and there is also the Swiss Air Flight 111 Memorial not far from Peggy's Cove. When you add in the friendliness of the local people from the Maritimes and the scenic and historical beauty of Halifax, Nova Scotia can be an incredible destination.
