Ive been trying to find caves to dive a little shorter drive from home. I live in ohio and usually go to florida. Is anyone aware of a good area that has a couple nice caves to spend a few days at? Maybe georgia? Google showed me radium springs but thats about all im finding as of yet.

There are caves in Missouri. Those are quite northwest of Florida, by a very loose definition :D but Florida is probably closer.

Caves in Georgia, Alabama, Missouri, and several other states. Unfortunately they’re not as easily accessible and you really need someone familiar with them to go with you the first time. Just drive to Florida. Most of those places aren’t ideal for vacation cave divers (that is not meant as offensive ps)

Missouri, North Arkansas. Even heard of a few (pretty hard core) caves in Tennessee.
Mines up in Wisconsin.
They are around all over the place. Just not that popular. And for the most part, really cold, small, and nowhere near as pretty as Florida.

Nothing will be as warm or large as what you find in Florida.

WI mine has very restricted access.

OP, just go down to FL. There’s really nothing closer to you.

The most northern diving caves and caverns which are suitable for casual tourism are:

Vortex, Morrison, Madison, Jackson Blue, Hole In The Wall

There are a LOT of caves that are divable in Tennessee,Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky, Arkansas and Missouri (now holding record for the deepest cave) ... They are generally sump dives though with distances less than 500' , very silty, cold, and guarded because of the "you aint from here is ya" factor. Had some famous cave divers visit Tennessee from the UK and because they were messing with lines already ran ended up having a very familiar person flown in to rescue one of them. NOT the publicity most land owners anywhere wants.... Either move to North Florida or be happy with the drive... and by the way, I have an awesome bumper sticker you need to purchase "I'd rather be DRIVING" because I feel your pain. I used to live 15 miles from Ginnie and now I have an 8 hour drive to get there.

There actually is one in southern GA (I think it was mentioned already) but you have to have a permit to dive it and well... very few of them are issued. Definitely not for a tourist diver.
