Hi all,

Actually, I am new to these forums and diving in general. I completed my AoW in April, and have completed 22 dives all on the Red Sea.

I am coming home to NB for almost two months this week, and I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of good dive shops, groups, and sites. I will mostly be around Fredericton and Bathust but will travel as well pending Covid restrictions. I know there is a dive shop in Lincoln, and lots of sites in NB like Deer Island, New River Beach, and the Bay of Fundy.

This is about all I know, all help and info appreciated.

I would recommend COJO Diving in Lincoln. There is a Fundy Divers FB group as well. I've dive Green's Point (Kelly Cove) but it requires experience at high tide, New River Beach is pretty easy, so is McCann's Head and Beaver Harbour. I believe New River Beach is off limits for shore diving as the access points are in a private campground but I'm not familiar with that area or the decision for access this year. I reside in the Fredericton area. Visibility in New Brunswick isn't good but if you want to dive there is lots of opportunities.

Yes, Cojo, that was the one I found on the net and I will be visiting them for sure. Thanks for all the dive site and FB group info, I will have a look.
Cheers!

There is a very active dive community in the Bay of Fundy region. Deer Island is unfortunately no longer available for diving due to a dispute with the campground owners. Hit up “Fundy Bay Divers” on Facebook or there is a group called NB divers run by CoJo.
A word of CAUTION! The bay of fundy has the highest tides in the world. A lot of sites are tide dependent, make sure you have someone with you familiar with it.

Thanks a lot for the info and the word of caution. I have only dove in very calm, warm, and clear water, and I know there are lots of things here that are going to throw me off, and I definitely wouldnt mess around with the tides. If I go in the Bay I would hire a guide for sure, but I also want to try lake or quarry diving too.
Cheers!

Don’t get me wrong there are lots of safe easy dive sites as well. Clear water well10’ of visibility is a good day in the Bay lol

I really agree that you should dive with those familiar with the dive sites. A few shops, including COJO have fun dives which are good, if occasionally crowded lol. shoot me an message if you want to dive McCann Head, New River Beach or Kelly's Cove. I'm not a DM but I've dove them and could possibly meet you for a dive if we can mesh; I have over 100 dives in NB probably 50 or so in the Bay.

Awesome, thanks a lot! I am just finishing my quarantine at the end of this week, and I will see what is involved in renting gear from Cojo for a couple days. Thanks again for the offer.

I am also going to check out their fun dives. They get crowded? I never imagined diving in NB would be crowded haha

The fun dives can get crowded especially the "Dusty Fin" and "Pirate Dive", but generally they aren't to bad. There is actually more divers than you'd think lol.
