I just don't log dives
Nothing fancy to say, but I took my time the other day to bitch about the winds, so it is fair to be thankful for the great weather this weekend.

Yesterday was as nice as NOAA was predicting. We noticed how the temperature is slowly coming up. My husband didn't comeback onboard in a hurry to peel off his suit. For me at minute 12 or so i thought i could've gone without a hood, granted by minute 40 i was happy to have it.

While following husband's flag i picked up covid masks floating on the surface along with the typical white bait boxes.
Why do fishermen throw those boxes overboard? They aren't fully degradable, they have a plastiky layer .. how about keeping your ******* waste until you get back and throw it in the proper place? Just a thought.

And while you are at it... Yes you fishermen that also dive... How about some control with nets, traps and markers. This tangled mess we got at the end of the day had the top of a plastic bottle in between the sargassum and the different thickness lines, that from certain angles looked exactly like a jellyfish . On top of my doc looks like the trash it is but floating in the ocean could have been quite attractive to a turtle.

Maybe it gave us good karma for today. Husband just splashed and I could see his fins all the way to the bottom. Looking forward to my dive in one hour .

thank you for being a concerned citizen....keep up the good work.

Seas were nice today so my husband and I went out.

As we usually do he went in first and came back with intell about current direction and water temp.

Today current was going south, viz was on the blah side but generally good conditions, water temp is climbing quite a bit, none of our computers are well calibrated for temps but I'm guessing is getting to 80F if not already there.

I saw what appeared to be a black tip shark as soon as I got to the bottom of the reef but he swam away rather fast.
Later on, close to the end of my dive, a nurse shark started circling me and actually swam up to me in a non friendly manner. I pushed him back and then he did it again ...i could've stayed few more minutes but didn't feel like dealing with that situation.
Is that normal? The only sharks that have ever come at me have been bulls in the Gulf, and not truly at me but at the fish the stringer.
Are people doing things to the nurse sharks so that they are getting pissed at divers?

...... nurse sharks so that they are getting pissed at divers?
90% of the time, even carrying dinner directly over their heads while they sleep under a ledge, the nurse's don't budge an inch. But usually once a year I'll get one who will spin around and won't leave me alone. And they are stupid, slow, but won't quit. You can bopp them over and over and they won't leave until you get back on the boat. You did what we do - sometimes it's just not worth the hassle and you get back on board and go dive another mile down the reef.

Hope Matt is getting ready for lobster season next month!

Thanks @Johnoly .
I've experienced the following me for a long while and be sort of annoying, but never before coming at me with such an attitude, at the momentI I just reacted.
Would they actually bump a diver? That could be painful ... Not the same but I remember being bumped by a manatee while working on a bridge and left me a bruise.

Oh well ... We are very ready for the lobsters, actually been seeing quite a bunch of healthy good sizes. Not sure how the mini season gonna play out this year, we are scheduled to get a puppy the first days of July.
May not be a wholde 2 day affair like we usually do.

Thank you for picking up the garbage. Why do fisherman STILL throw all their crap on the ground or in the ocean? Really stupid.

Not just fisherman.... It's blow boaters, cruisers, kayaks, freighters.... plenty of blame to be shared
