Hello all,
The husband and I will be in Cozumel on December 23-30.
We will be staying in BA. I don't think I ever needed diving as bad as I need it now!'

Anyway - 5 years ago in Cozumel we had lunch somewhere, I can't remember the name of the place, I think we found it through TripAdvisor forum. It was 2 ladies who only made lunches, in their backyard. It was gourmet food, western style, not Mexican. Sometimes I think it was a dream, and sometimes I think it actually happened.

Does it ring a bell to anyone?

Thanks everyone!

EDIT: I screwed up on this post but leaving it here. Missed your "western" food comment. Not certain at all about that. Most of things I described below would be Mexican.

I think there are a few of these, but unfortunately I am not sure exactly where they are. I have been to the type of place you are talking about a few times, but not in nearly a decade. Just don't spend much time downtown anymore (I am a creature of habit and go directly to same places over and over again).

I think there use to be one or two in the vicinity of 10th and 3 (that is a very approximate location, could be 5th and 5, could be 15th and 5). If you are bored and want to walk around someday that is where I would start. As I recall they put some sort of sidewalk sign (or front gate sign) out during the day showing the menu. They actually combine nice ambience with decent value as I recall (maybe 100-120 pesos for full meal--soup, lunch, a drink etc).

Hopefully one of the people who actually lives in town will give you a better idea than I just did. If you are really desperate, post on the Cozumel4you public group on facebook. You will get more answers than you ever wanted :)

Maybe La Cucina Italiana (Calle 6Nte # 300). "Western" (Italian), 2 ladies, only lunch, backyard entrance to their converted living room.

It probably isn't La Cucina as I think that is a newer place.

I can highly recommend Addy's for a beautiful outdoor experience.
Addy is also an artist and has some very nice pieces on display.
More of a breakfast place than lunch.
Make new memories and explore new places.

Thanks! I'm looking at the photos, and I don't see the charming backyard we sat at. Also I don't recall any buffet. It requires further investigation, it might be the place.
Thanks again!
La Cucina is worth visiting anyway. It's Italian, not Western, but great food. I don't remember a buffet, I ordered from my table, but maybe I goofed.

You're probably thinking of Cha-Cha's Kitchen. It's closed now.

Maybe you are thinking of a place that has since closed. I ate there a few times. I think it was on 5 or 15th Ave. You came in the front door, walked through the house, the kitchen, and then sat out in the back yard. She had a couple of specials a day. I forget the name. Those pop up restaurants don't usually stay around all that long.

Thinking Cha Chas Kitchen as well. Only lunch, we usually did take out. I think one of the woman opened another restaurant on 15 that was excellent after it closed. It only sat a few people and only open a short time. Did Cha Chas Kitchen morph into Patio Cakes?

Was it Local 707? It was in the patio of Mi Casa en Cozumel. Run by Christina who owned Cha Cha’s. Absolutely the best on Coz. So sad when she left
