my reason for expecting more was little bit biased by surfing through internets and reading reviews. To be honest from the critter list we created we only didnt see hairy octo, mototi and stargaizer( and the last one just because we didnt do much night diving )) )) so all in all the trip was very good. But one always expect that hairy frogfish will be seating on every stone and everything else will be in huge abundance )))). As for the period - we were in the first decade and the water was really warm - so personally I am blaming this fact )))

A little more romblon info for those curious. I have a trip report from January but I'm a famous procrastinator, so that will have to wait.
The 2Go overnight ferry from batangas to romblon is pretty sweet. It even has a karaoke bar with singers and dancers. Have a beer or two enjoy the show then get some shuteye. Pretty surreal.
Definitely get a cabin, they are cheap!
As a solo traveler getting on and off the ferry was a pain with all my gear but doable.
3ps resort has recently added some rooms that are really nice, much nicer than the huts. The gingo guides are good spotters and the diving can be a bit "free range" as one guide had no problem divers going into deco, and he spent a lot of time off on his own shooting photos. but I do prefer a guide focused on spotting and helping. The owners are good guides also and more attentive underwater and are photographers also. The last few days I had a local as a guide he was a good spotter and helpfull, he had no camera of his own to distract him. There were no time limits on dives which I love the only thing getting me out of the water was me getting chilly or draining my tank to 20 bar.
I went mostly for the melibe colmani, and then they showed me melibe engeli to top it off. They also have loads of butterfly nudis also. And you cant swing a dead cat withour hitting a Pontohi. It's definitely not Anilao or Lembeh, but ghost nudi is what I wanted and got. They also have a rare pipe fish and an unidentified shrimp there they call a sashimi shrimp. It definitely a narrow range of critters but that range includes some epic rarities.
And the food in the PI can be pretty lousy but 3ps had a German chef and he really made some nice dishes, and I'm not talking about schnitzel this and schnitzel that.

u mean that gopro camera is not good for video for that?
