First time rigging up a pony bottle.

I looked at a lot of posts and the GUE post that gets referenced often and made my own tweaks.

Didn't have cave line, had lots of paracord.

Couldn't find the car inner tube.... don't really understand why all of the rigs I've seen only has a hose clamp at the bottom and the inner tube at the top, I went with double ss hose clamps.

Hose clamps are pushed through fuel injector hose.... that part was the worst, eventually cut it into smaller pieces which worked a lot better

Added a paracord cobra wrap to the handle and with the double clamps you can actually carry it comfortably by the handle and it's color coordinated.... my buddy will have the exact same rig with a white handle, we do that with everything since we have identical gear.

The GUE top part uses the chord to wrap around the neck....I opted to terminate the cord at the clip and use a bungee choker like I've seen in some other pics.

Will add two more bungee loops to the hose clamps to tuck away the lp hose.

Once I get the regs for it (MK2/R195) I'll get to test it in the water, also going to pick up a quick draw and try that out for spearing/crabbing dives.

I'm sure I got something wrong that will kill me along with my snorkel, BFK, Air 2, and Atomic splits:wink:

Maybe the pic will show up now.

Great job...a little busy/time consuming...suggest trying sheathed clamps available at DGX (Dive Gear Express...)

*measure length of top loop...knot with butterfly snap threaded through knot...
*measure cord distance based on cylinder length...thread through pre-cut vinyl tubing...second knot...with second butterfly snap threaded through knot...
* third knot...approx 1/2'' below second knot...
*place sheathed clamp between two bottom knots...position worm screw away from your suit to prevent abrasion...worm screw is also sheathed...
*leave 3'' tail at bottom so you can pull the harness tight while tightening clamp...ensure you cauterize your cord ends...

I use 3/8'' nylon cord with reflective strand woven through...Home Depot...butterfly snaps...DGX...

You do not need a top clamp...for small...19/30/40 cu ft cylinders...

Removes and re-installs in seconds...

I get it now, once you wrap the neck you only have to adjust the tension on the bottom.

As far as time consuming I find it relaxing to work on stuff like this, love to weave paracord while watching TV in the evenings.

I might redo it when we rig my buddies bottle, that way we would already be set for clamps.

It was a pain but the clamp through the fuel line makes for a nice bumper. . the only metal exposed it's where I trimmed it for the worm screw.

I went through a similar process last year, 3ltr pony with an old (but newly serviced) Mk2 and r190.

I followed that old guide that's always linked too. As W W says, a couple of elastics (I used a tied bungee) to stow the hose. I've used it for several dives this year, slung on the left. It's a bit harder to check my gauges but that's the only drawback. It doesn't mess my weighting or trim or get in the way. I've tried dropping a couple of pounds on one side and dived with normal weight too. It works fine! Entry from the side of a rib is no issue although the petite lady crew member certainly noticed the weight when she hauled my combined rig back on board later. Usually I dismount the pony and hand it up separately!

Your setup looks neat. I had some clear hose to go over the handle so used that and take some time to check the rigging every once in a while.

It's a 19cf.

Seems to line up well with my chest and waist D ring.

Plan to do with it? Carry it on every dive and never use it unless the shtf or we're practicing OOA.

My dive buddy and I work with chemicals and ERT, we are used to and comfortable with redundancy that is only used for training and emergencies.

I may occasionally use it to keep my gear pressurized during a soak if my 100s are being filled then topped off when I pick up my tanks.

My dive shop tops them off for free.

The pic made it look really small which is why I asked
