Setting up my DEMA schedule next week and this "helmet rebreather" is part of it since they will be there.

Those magical canisters hold NaO2 and KO2.

"KO2 has also been used in canisters for rebreathers for fire fighting and mine rescue work, but had limited use in scuba rebreathers because of its dangerously explosive reaction with water; the Russian IDA71 rebreather was designed to be used with potassium hydroxide."

My guess is the NaO2 is in there to scrub the moisture from breathing before it reacts with the KO2.

What could possibly go wrong. . .

Yes. I had it, but late sold it (was too lazy for rework into common usage)

Buck Rogers meets Mike Nelson...lots of questions...no answers...

Their web site is not secure...

Bailout???...sizing/sealing/clearing...one size fits nobody???...is it cold water compatible...is it compatible with a hood...it looks like a chin strap may be a good idea...demo video appears to be a shallow aquarium...not a 130 ft deep dive site...

I believe Super-Oxide use in North America is prohibited...

This unit is a re-imagined IDA-71...same principle...cylinder valve pressure activated by depth...Super-Oxide producing oxygen...I see a button SPG...what appears to be PP02 monitoring...and depth in meters mounted in the HUD...

Even if it does what the manufacturer says it will do...any malfunction at 40 meters with no redundancy will immediately put the operator in a world of hurt...

I'm sure there will be lots of comments on this...

Why do you need bailout when clearly the main failure mode results is an explosion on top of your head. I want one.
