Diver who went missing at sea swims to shore
THE 28-year-old diver who went missing yesterday during a fishing expedition is alive and well after swimming several miles to shore.

Christopher Bugros went missing on Wednesday after diving off Balandra. He was last seen around 10 am. Those he went fishing with returned without him and relatives began a frantic search.

This morning they were relieved to learn that Bugros overcame rough seas off the north coast and swam to land.

Relatives told Newsday Bugros was severely dehydrated and exhausted and was receiving fluids at the Sangre Grande District Hospital. They said he was recovering well and wished that all attempts to contact him be done tomorrow as he needs to rest.

Bugros’ cousin, Caitlin posted on Twitter earlier today about his herculean feat. She wrote: “We got confirmation this morning that he’s alive Hearing that he somehow managed to swim to shore. His family are on their way to him rn (right now) so I’ll know more soon THANK YOU to everyone that offered to help & kept him in their prayers.”

Went missing while fishing? How does that happen?

Now that would make sense!

He may want to bring PAB / PLB & a bottle of water next time.

If he’s spear fishing, he might skip the water bottle & munch on the speared fish. I heard the fish eyeballs are good source of fresh water.
