My son getting certified.
I have seen 10 foot hammerheads, sea turtles, spotted dolphins and sea horses - but by far it is having him join me for dives. I love sharing this sport and hope we continue sharing it...

RJP's whaleshark picture is the "I Win" button of this thread, LOL!

Nope...

I'm not usually "sappy" in this way, but for some reason I teared up reading this.

That at and the sheer look of terror that came across my wife's face when she realized that I was proposing underwater. She thought I had brought the actual ring, so she clamped down on the box with a death grip and refused to let me get out the novelty ring I brought.

I LOVE TV being retired. No, I always loved it, except for the "new shows now" and cancellation of those you like for 2 months!

Best moment: Finding a live Atlantic Deer Cowrie on the wreck deck in Alabama.

My first experience with bioluminescence. My buddy found a tennis ball, and we played catch...underwater, at night, with lights off.

Another involved bioluminescence again. Solo dive at night. I had turned my light off for the end of my dive. It was like diving in space with green lenses.

Fending off a 10'+ GWS in SC with a a stringer of lionfish for about 10 minutes.Epic vis made this a little less scary.

Getting the water with my wife and buddy at Looe Key during the 20th century and getting out in the 21st,we drifted back to the boat watching the fireworks from KW,Marathon and Little Palm Island.

I have a total of 6 dives in my log so in sure I have interesting times to come,
When diving a wall in Mercia at about 18 meters the water seemed to be cut diagonally in two, one half was normal, the other half was shimmering, as I swam into the shimmering half the temp dropped, i slightly lost my boyency and dumped air. I now realise it was a thermocline, just like a shimmering cloud within the sea.. Probably standard to most divers but it will stick with me.

On the same dive we came across a largish octopus hiding in a hole, my DM tried to pull a rock away so we could see it but the octopus had other ideas and pulled it back, I had a go at pulling the rock and could not believe the strength of this creature..

Great dive and I fell in love with the sport from then on
