Just wanted to say there are still honest people out and about the earth still. Yesterday I was rushing to get home from Tenkiller here in Oklahoma, I forgot to check my gear and left my gloves, hood and compass. I got home did my honey do list then started to clean my gear. And then I realized I left $125.00 worth of gear on the rocks at crappie point. @¥÷&%!# !\×_$÷ I said to myself. Went to sleep disappointed with myself.
Woke this morning and told my wife what I did and asked if she wanted to go on a ride....24 hrs later, an hour and a half dive my belongings were right were I left them. Today I learned to things. 1 don't doubt people's honesty. 2 don't leave things behind that makes you doubt society. Thanks[emoji3]

Even when I'm in a hurry, the last thing I do is a visual walk around/check of where I was set up to make sure I have all my gear... It's a habit I have just like checking to make sure my air is on. My usual dive buddy does the same thing, so 2 pairs of eyeballs is pretty thorough.

Sure is nice that you found your stuff still there!

That is pretty cool. Reminds of a similar event. Flew to Cincinnati on a Monday morning and this guy was on the plane with me. Friday I am flying home and I see the guy again. We get on the plane and the guy asks if he can check my seat pocket (I was sitting in the seat he flew down in). He looked in the seat pocket and there was his smart phone. Lucky guy.

It was a Delta regional jet. Most the time it was full of consultants, like me.

Me too. But then there was the time, after carefully searching the ground and surrounding area I forgot I had left my hood on top of the car to dry out.

Now I also check on top of the car.

Drove the hour home, popped the trunk to put my gear away, nearly cried when I stood looking down at an empty trunk. How the hell did I forget EVERYTHING??? Promptly drove the hour back and all my stuff was sitting right where I left it.
Whew, have never done that again..

That is awesome I would have cried if I left all my gear at the dive site. I had saved for close to a year to buy all of it. I'm diving agian this weekend at Tenkiller. This time I have an alarm set for 4 pm as that is when we should be finishing our last dive...If that doesn't work maybe the laminated tag I made that I attached to my gear bag will do the trick..I will definitely return the favor if I ever find someone's gear on the surface. Thanks for the replies and idea's.
