Single tank steel backplate. Deep Sea Supply. 40# wing.

I am thinking about buying it.

Its worth what you and the seller can agree to.....:D

Used means 1/2 of normal price to me, but I might go higher on things depending on use, condition, odds of need for service, availability, etc. . I might go even lower if reasons dictate...

seeing that it has the "magical H", i would anticipate the seller asking a king's ransom..... I, personally, will not pay a premium for it....

You know where it is, we don't, what is the seller asking?

you can get a backplate, webbing and a wing for less, but if you value the blue H, then 300 is a reasonable deal.

agree....

Quick, and by no means the only sources:

NEW
LCD 40 is $305 new from Tobin (plust any fees, taxes, shipping, etc)
maybe $50 for a harness
Halcyon SS BP is $215 at Diveseekers

Do you need a 40 lb wing or are you in this just for the deal? There is nothing magical about a Halcyon plate except the ability to take a cinch adapter. You could probably buy a new setup for close to that price.

Ok thanks for the info guys.

I don't need the 40# wing it just comes on it I am looking for a deal. I don't care about the H its just on it also. I would like to get a BPW set up and I am looking to spend no more then $300 for one if I can. I don't care about buying used gear as long as its in good shape.

I have yet to see where I can get a set up for $300. (rhwestfall you just posted before I posted)

At DSS a new set up is $470.

Halcyon SS BP is $215 at Diveseekers
this ads up to $570

I am just getting in to a BPW set up so I don't want to spend a ton if I don't have to.

The thing I like most about DSS is having the body length I do is the fact the plate is set to someone taller, and thus fitted properly. I had 2 instructors, 1 Rec and the other a Cave/Tech tell me that the normal sized plates are to small (I clock in the 6'6 to 6'7 range). If your of normal size, something like Bob posted will be fine, and lots of people do dive Dive Rite BP/W systems.

Does this have the halcyon (or any) cam bands? I don't see one through the plate's slot and the DSS wings don't require an STA. If it's an H plate, harness, STA with cambands, and a DSS wing for $300, that's a solid deal.
