After reading some of the threads here on sharks, I have a question.... What do you do if you find yourself face to face with, lets say, a nice size bull shark?
I've seen alot of different reefies, and nurse sharks, but they couldn't have cared less that I was there, and although I highly respect them, I haven't ever feared them sharing space with them. I have yet to see a "predator" shark and I'm curious just what exactly should a diver do?
Scientists found out that if you face a big shark then you,ll have to swim very agressively towards the shark and hit it as hard as you can with your fist on it,s snout! If this didnt help then hit it WITH YOUR STUMP AS OFTEN AS YOU CAN!!!!!!!Peace.

Great story and very well told ;)
You must have had a good Adrenaline rush, didn't you :D

Sharks are cool! Had a 15 foot Tiger in Maui pin us down for 10-15 minutes (seemed like hours!) What a beauty! He wanted the lobster net more than me I guess. My dive budy a 30 navy dive officer swares it was "THE BIGGIST FRIKKIN FISH HE HAS EVER SEEN!"

Remain calm (ya right!), hit the bottom, watch for a bit, then staying together, make for the surface/shore.

This event was two days after the surfer girl lost her arm and less than 1/4 mile from where the first fatal shark attack in HI in 12 years happend shortly after by a 14-16 foot Tiger.

Now, I gotta dive the shark tank in Maui!

Think of it this way, if a 5m White Shark decides you are lucnh there really isnt much you will able to do about it, but hey not a bad way to go, beats being in a car wreck :)
