As the title says, the Alberta Underwater Council finally has a presence on SB.

The AUC has been around since 1960. It started out as the Alberta Scuba Divers Council and as was the fashion of the day, was primarily involved in training and certifying scuba divers. In the late 90's the name was changed to the Alberta Underwater Council as the scope had become so much more than just scuba diving.

For more information check out the council's website. www.albertaunderwatercouncil.com

And yes, there is scuba diving in Alberta complete with wrecks and the odd fish or two.

Nice Brian, good job on getting an AUC Forum up and running.

Congrats! A whole new place to argue. :) Looking forward to some robust discussions!

Hello my name is Pamela I am a new diver and I am coming to Banff this summer I would like to do some diving and was wondering if there is some way I could find a buddy to dive with

Hi Pamela,
There are people diving in Lake Minnewanka (Banff) every weekend during a normal summer. As the time gets closer check out the AquaSport Scuba Centre or TheDiveShop groups on Facebook. If you post there I'm sure you'll find a buddy who knows the sites and can show you around.

That would be great thank you so much for replying I have been trying to google the dive shops in Banff with no luck

There are no shops in Banff or Canmore. Fortunately Calgary has four, djensen mentioned two.

You can also check through the Underwater Outlaws FB page. They are a large and active dive club in the area.

Shipwrecks in Alberta?? I guess I will have to check the website, lol.
