Debbie ruin my scheduled dive on saturday. I was excited about diving in the ocean but no thanks to debbie my clearwater trip was canceled. My Orlando trip consisted of daily rain showers. Still waiting to dive in the ocean.

This runaway dredge barge almost ruined someone's day...took three tugs to keep it from hitting the pier in downtown st. pete.. All three barges had 3 tugs on them Sun, Mon and tuesday to keep them in place from the wind and storm surge. Everything was totally benign this morning..
Dtr said what normally is a 5-10 min trip to the Winn Dixie from her house on Linden Drive off Mariner in Spring Hill was 45 min due to finding a way past flooded or streets with sinkholes in the middle.

Wow! That could have ended very bad.

Wow! That could have ended very bad.

Some of the comments on our neighborhood FB page were along the lines of, "could have saved the city the cost of demolition"... yeah it could have been catastrophic. There are three of those dredging barges just off the coast for spoil while the coasties or somebody dredges the channel yet again.

Each barge is anchored and I felt for those tug captains... we could see them pushing ALL night long to keep the barges in their place. It is all good now... water pushed into the bay is gone, sky is sunny. It was a dress rehersal for the "big one martha"

I almost rented an apt last fall just off passagrille beach. It was under 3 feet of water and had the 2nd story roof torn off by a tornado. The same one, we think, that got the Passagrille Marina high n dry... It would take a Cat 4 to get me out of my very sturdy little house. We were never in any danger at anytime... if one discounts the starving nanday conures who were pissed off because I had not put any peanuts or seed out for two days...

I dove off Boynton Beach yesterday. Flat seas with mild current, water temp 81. Viz first dive around 30-40 ft, second dive it dropped to more like 20 with lots of particulate in the water. But lots of action: turtles, nurse shark, big ray, green moray plus all the usual pretty fishies & lobsters. We watched a big loggerhead getting cleaned, which was very cool. When finished she swam straight at us.
