Howdy all,

I just finished reading something from the astronauts who went to the moon. It stuck with me for some reason: the moon's surface is slippery. Huh. Who knew?

I want to know what little surprises like that scuba had for you. For me, it was definitely that breathing with scuba dries your mouth out. Of all the things I expected from it, that was not one of them :p

So, who knew?

I think a lot of people are surprised that they cannot tell what direction sound is coming from. As far as your dry mouth problem using an older all metal reg will reduce that due to the condensation that builds up inside the second stage.

I was completely nonplussed to learn that diving made you need to pee. I had no idea.

How heavy a weight belt could become in salt water with a 3 mil suit on!

How heavy a steel 120 tank is on your back NOT in salt (or fresh) water.

That surprised me too. The moment you hit the water!

Also how hard it is to sink with so much weight on your back!
