Is there some kind of magic to minimize the number of port for the nauticam housing ?
Assuming 3 lens: WA lens (8mm, 7-14 or 9-18) + the 14-42/45 kit lens + oly45 macro lens, could it be a way to only use 2 dome port ?

Seems the macro needs dedicated port but:
I was thinking the WA 4" for both the 9-18 and the kit lens being an option
Or 6" WA dome for any of the 3 WA would work, as well as the kit lens ? Is there a problem of using this port when using 14-45mm?

Any creative idea welcome !
thanks

The 4.3" semi-dome will work for the 14-42 & 9-18 (and so will the same gear). But the others need their dedicated ports.

Thank you Jack. So you mean the 4.3" reference 36132?
if this is the case this dome can be used for 8mm, 14-42, and 9-18?
this would be great but seems nauticam says there is a WA 4" (ref 36137) for the 9-18.

Hi Stargost,

The WA 4" #36137 will work for both the 14-42 and 9-18. We also released a snap-on diopter holder for this port should you want to shoot closer macro with the 14-42.

Edward

P.S. We will update the MIL port chart as soon as possible. Thanks.

Thanks a lot Edward,
I was indeed debating between 8mm under 4.33" dome + Flat 72 for 14-42 and wet diopter when needed vs WA 4" (both 8-18 and 14-42) and port 45 for macro.

Seems the solution you mentioned may allow maximum flexibility and delay a bit the dedicated macro spending. Excellent !

Thanks to all for hints and advices, but I'm still struggling picking the right WA setting:

I'm pretty sure I have seen a picture of the nauticam 4.33" dome with the kit lens 14-42. Is this possible?

If this is the case, it would be great. Also looking at the lens size, then the oly 12mm and possibly the oly 9-18 would also fit in this dome. So what the benefit of the 4" port??

Thank you

It is my understanding that the 14-42, 9-18 and 12mm will all work in the 4" dome. Depending on which 14-42 lens you have/get, I understand you may be able to use the same zoom ring for the 14-42 and the 9-18.

I believe the 4.33" is for the 8mm fisheye.

It seems unlikely to me that all of the above lenses would work well in the 4.33" dome.

Nauticam needs to update their port chart.

I suspect jack Connick will be along and can clarify.

Hi;

jd950 has it right. The 4.33 dome is for the 8mm FE only.

BTW, the 14-42 and 9-18 Oly take the same gear.
