My mom is in her eighties; she flies to Cozumel every year (has done so every year since 1977), and she goes deep sea fishing, snorkeling, bar hopping around the island, and a couple of years ago she went up in a parasail. I submit that that old woman is a role model for us all.

Hence Cozumel should be part of everyone's health routine!!

And obey Customs regs to stay out of the pokey. :eyebrow:
I think it is a fact that if you are going to get caught with something, it will be on the Mexican side. How many stories have there been of Americans flying home getting arrested with ammo in their carry on? You know they didn't buy that down on Melgar just for the trip home!
I'm sure the Houston jail for smugglers is not fun, but I'd really hate to spend time in the island jail. I've read they have two, the nicer one for tourists, but that evangelist who had to spend the night got moved to the other one. :shocked2:

Maybe I'll declare my third camera next time, and go a week without a pocket knife. Got to wonder what the Okies are smuggling which direction...?

I'm pretty sure the guy was just about to go on break and needed a snack :)

We recently had a Whitetail Deer Breeder (I didn't even know they did that) in Texas busted for smuggling champion stock in from northern states. Now the deer is supposed to be smaller in Texas per Bergmann's rule but some ranches want to sell deer hunting so they breed for larger, yet his smuggling risked exposing all deer and cattle in the area to serious diseases. Some people just do what they want to do even tho the rules may have good reasons.

On the other hand, some rules are indeed silly. :silly:

Last year they confiscated my ferret and my hay bales. Now I know why.

we flew into coz on 11/2/11, we always bring snacks to eat on the airplane, but when we went through customs they took my wife's jerky out of her carry on, it was a bag of store bought jerky that had never been opened, they said cannot bring food into the country.. is this a new rule ??? i had a bag of chips in my bag but they did not look in it ....

Been a rule since I've been going there, ..... 1992.
