I purchased some Highlands stainless steel buckle cam straps for my BP/W setup. They came with rubber pads to put under the buckle to protect the tank, but for me they just seem to get in the way. Do you guys use pads with your SS cam bands? Thanks

Are you using your own tanks or rentals? Dual cam bands?

Duals won't come loose either way but will make some marks on the tanks without pads

I use dual Halcyon bands on single tanks with Octogrip pad; I guess it's marginally harder to swap tanks but not much onceyou get used to it

I use mine :)

I rent tanks and only use single tanks. I have dual SS cam bands. It is not a huge deal, they just seem to be a bit in the way. Last week one of the pads got smashed in the buckle and mangled it quite a bit. I was just wondering what the consensus was on tanks pads.

The Highland pads are a pain in the A$$ since they are not attached. I also have the Dive Rite SS tank bands and the pads are stitched in and never get in the way or pop off.
I have not used my Highland straps enough to decide whether I'll ditch the pads or not.
