When you show up for your vacation with hopes to do a bunch of diving and finding the weather is bad, waves are huge, vis is crap and the weather report is more of the same for the rest of your trip...

Even worse when you live there.

Has happened to me more than a few times.

If there is ANY way to still dive safely, I would still go out. By diving in the worst conditions, it makes the clear, calm stuff a piece of cake. If not,.... that's life some times. I just find something else to occupy my time. Disappointing?.... sure. There are just somethings I have no control of.

You can always practice buoyancy and fiddle with your computer in the resort pool. That's what I did when my last vacation turned out poorly.

Yes, that would bite in a big way. No substitute, but if you're in a place where there are other attractions/activities, it could help.

Richard.

That's one of the great things about cave diving :). . . Sorry your vacation isn't turning out the way you hoped. I'll keep my fingers crossed for better weather!

Best of luck.. frustrating indeed!

Good argument for flexibility, enjoy the sites, visit some other attractions, and come home with the same great smiles and photos that all the non-divers have! If the diving happens, even better!
