Want to join me and fellow Texas Divers for a Belize trip off season and at the very end of hurricane season in Ambergris Caye Belize.

Leave October 16 return October 23rd.

This is a lower cost trip off season than prime time and offers the same world class diving, beach settings and ocean breezes.

If interested PM me and I can provide more info.

Only need 3 more divers to fill the boat each day of diving.

Ambergris Caye, diving, fishing, coral reef diving vacation!

You live on Oahu.

Awesome I used to own a house in EWA beach back in the late 70's 2 blocks from the beach.

That is too cool.

:D

Hi Shawn,

Becky and I are looking forward to the trip. We are getting a great deal on the dive packages. Three boat dives a day at $30 a dive. The condos are beach front and close to the center of town. No taxi or boat rides to get to San Pedro.

Getting to Belize City from Texas, you have three reasonable choices, American, Continental and Taca Air. With Taca you have to connect through San Salvador. American and Continental fly direct from DFW and IAH respectively. I found American a lot less expensive but you have to add on the departure tax (less than $40, still about $150pp less).

I am putting together a list of things to do on our last day that range from flying to Tikal in Guatemala and back in a day, site seeing in the rain forest, taking an ultralight tour of the island to all day snorkeling and shopping in Caye Caulker. Or you can just rent golf carts and see the rest of Ambergris.

If you can't make this trip I am helping to organise a two week dive stay in San Pedro over Christmas/New Year at outrageously low prices. PM me if you have any interest.

My wife and I were on Ambergris for a week in late October a couple of years back. We dove with Ecologic and had a great time. Ya'll are going to have fun! This year we will be leaving for the Galapogos on mid-November or I would be severely tempted.

If you have any tips or tricks on where to eat, or avoid, we would love to hear them. We are planning on doing a supermarket run when we get there and I expect the prices will be like the Super Chomak in Akumal.

Hi Peter,

I was wondering what happened to your shop and dive operation. You were the one that arranged the dive boat charter and we did 3 wall dives instead of blue hole. Wow is all I can say for the beauty of the ocean during that excursion. I have a pic of you coming back from that most amazing and fantastic dive day of diving on those walls. The picture is too big to post on scubaboard but if you would like to see it. Email me at shawn.o'shea@foxtv.com. Glad to hear from you after all this time. I was in Belize last in 2006.

So looking forward to being back on Ambergris Caye this year.

I sure wish you still had the dive shop in business. I also got nitrox and the 100cf din tanks from you. You were the one stop shop for getting anything I wanted on the Island. It was a real great adventure diving with your folks.

Who should I be using now that you are not available for the daily dive scene in Belize.

Talk to you soon.

:D

Thanks for the kind words, Shawn. I did try to "do it right", the way I would want to find it as a customer. Even though some potential customers were really pissed off when I wouldn't discount to match the "cheap guys" up the beach, the business was amply profitable. I closed it because of other things not directly related to diving.

AquaDives inherited my tech compressors/tanks etc, so they are the only people now capable of supporting tech divers. They do usually call me in when they are expecting tech divers.

I'll PM you the info you suggest, plus a few other things.
