I hope this becomes a stickey so everyone that has ever had a question about Spare Air should come to this Thread... This Question goes out to people who actully own a Spare Air: what are the pros and cons? And this for all that oppose it... Why? Now this in general.. Should one eitheq A: have good enough skills that they don't need one. B: Get the 1.7 cu ft spare air. C: get the 3.0 version. D: get a ___ cu ft pony. E: or dive doubles or use an H or Y valve..

I'm going to paint the words "spair air" on my pony bottle, just so I can say I have both
 
how about that for the price for a spare air you can get a AL 30 or 40 and a (cheap) regulator...
 
Not if it runs out 15 feet from the surface.

I'd rather swim the last 15 feet after the Spare Air runs out then 100 feet with no gas.
 
What about your buddy? Also even from a hundred feet do you really think you have no gas?

From 100 feet, i'm sure the spair air will get you to about 50. Have fun swimming that remaining 50 feet. I hope your not pushing your deco limits.
