It was done as a fund raiser for The American Cancer Society. Only time will tell if it was worth it.

Good job Robert. Not many people feel strongly enough about anything much less make the extraordinary effort you did on that dive.

Congratulations to you and your support team.

Very cool Robert! What gear did you use?

Darell

Suit - Mares Isotherm Semi-dry

Mask - OTS provided their Guardian Full Face Mask and their SSB-2010 Communications units along with a SP-100D surface station

BCD - Sherwood Axis

Fins - Scubapro Twin Jets

Go USA!

A record setting dive in a jacket BCD. That will stir up some chatter here on the forum. Lol. Congratulations!

They can also all be found on my website.

I have been asked over and over again if I would do it again. The simple answer is if it was worth it. I did not make this attempt for me. The ultimate goal was to raise money for The American Cancer Society. If the funds come in strong enough I would seriously consider another attempt at it.

Since this was a fund raiser, I did the dive with as much of the gear that I already owned or gear that was donated. It didn't make much sense to spend a ton of money on gear. If I was going to do that I could have just donated that money instead and not done the dive.

My site is World Record Scuba It is also linked in my signature.

Once on my site people can click on the American Cancer Society logo, or on the "Donate" button. Both of these take you directly to the ACS donation page on my behalf. That way your the donations go directly to them and they can provide you with a receipt for your taxes.

Yeah, how did you survive this without a BP/W? Based on what I've read from many SB members, attempting something like this w/o a BP/W is a death wish!!!!!:D
