Get Your Drift Diving Certification!

Drift Diving is a popular form of diving which is defined not by equipment or technique, but by location and water currents. In most open water diving situations, the scuba diver propels themselves by swimming and kicking their fins.

In Drift Diving, the diver descends into water with a known current and after obtaining neutral buoyancy lets the current carry them along. Drift Diving is arguably the most relaxing and pleasant diving experience there is. Because the diver is not exerting themselves by swimming, they use less air and thus can stay submerged longer on a single tank.

Drift Diving on the Colorado River is ONLY from Memorial Day to Labor Day and only $150 for two tanks, lunch, snacks, weights, and beverages. Boat leaves from Willow Beach...

How did the drift dive go? I really want to do this sometime this summer, just not sure when. I would like to go drift diving and get my PADI Drift Certification. I am going to work towards that and try and kill two birds with one stone.

it was great! we are going again this saturday... i can do a drift dive class, but it's with ssi. drift dives are only from memorial day to labor day, per the nps, so better get on the boat, quick!

if you're thinking of doing specialties and interested in our blackbeard's trip, you can get 2 for 1 on specialties.

i dive the salt river. i really wont to try the colorado. if i got drift i want it with padi. worken on bouth master diver and dive master so i need my 5 speshiltys.

do you have any pics of diving colorado?

I had the pleasure of doing the Ringbolt drift dive with Doug last year and had a blast!
I will have to say that was by far my favorite of many dives while I was living down there. I highly recommend it if you have a chance. Also, pretty much any chance to dive with Doug is worth while.
