What I have heard:
1) The boat was Dive Asia's new liveaboard.
2) Missing passengers are Austrian, German, Swiss, Japanese
3) Benno and Jurgen have sent out an email with an announcement of the accident but saying that they still don't yet have specific details of the events surrounding the sinking.

Like everyone else, I am praying that the missing passengers are rescued soon.

An hour ago I've spoken directly to Jurgen and Chris. Chris was on the boat and is one of the survivors. They had no new details to report that haven't been already relayed to the press.

Apparently, it was two consecutive squalls that capsized the boat. There are seven people still missing - six customers and one Thai crew. The Thai cook missing was a substitute cook asked to fill in for the regular cook on this trip at last minute.

There was a storm here last night and the wind was very strong and unpredictable. Survivors are shaken but ok. The search for the missing divers is ongoing.

We just came back from a dive trip with Dive Asia 1. The boat looked new to us, but was overbooked by 50%. If there really was no EPIRB then there should be a criminal investigation. Due to our knowledge the owners are German - they should know was SAFETY means. We hope that our suspicion is wrong. Michael&Made, Bali
